Low Proximity Exhaust Hood

K-Tech's ETL listed PL Q Low Proximity Exhaust Hood has extremely low minimum exhaust CFM requirements.

The K-Tech PL Q hood has extremely low minimum exhaust CFM requirements. Optional rear plenum can provide up to 90% make-up air. Due to floor discharge of low quantity make up air: 1) Make-up air has nominal effect on cook's comfort; 2) Allows most effective HVAC performance; 3) Tempering costs in cold climates are minimized. Design of hood prohibits use over certain cooking equipment.

Features at a Glance
  • ETL Listed for use over 400°F cooking surfaces. ETL Listed to Canadian safety standards, ETL Sanitation Listed and built in accordance with NFPA 96.
  • Low exhaust CFM required.
  • Up to 90% make-up air supplied through optional rear air plenum.
  • Sturdy stainless steel construction.
  • Stainless Steel high velocity filters for improved grease removal efficiency; optional Captrate® filter.
  • Space saving, compact design uses limited kitchen space.

Requirements
  • Exhaust fan must remain in operation 30 minutes after cooking equipment shut down to prevent accidental discharge of fire system.
  • Ceiling and equipment height must be provided to determine hanging height and enclosure panel sizing.
  • Hood may underhang equipment by maximum 4.5".

Options
  • Back Supply Plenum - Provides make-up air for the kitchen, discharged below cooking equipment. Welded with stainless steel on exposed surfaces. Unexposed surfaces made of aluminized metal. Shipped separately, requiring field connection. Insulated to prevent condensation. Perforated diffuser plates for even air distribution. Provides required clearance from limited combustibles per NFPA 96 Standards.
  • Enclosure Panels - Constructed of stainless steel. Mounting channel factory-welded to hood for field installation of panels over 11" high. If under 11", factory-welded and integrally installed into hood front and ends. Sized to extend from hood top to ceiling, enclosing pipe and hanging parts.
  • End Panels - Should be used to maximize hood performance and eliminate the effects of cross drafts in kitchen...units constructed of stainless steel and sized according to hood width and cooking equipment. Exposed edges hemmed for safety and rigidity.
  • Captrate® Filter - Removable Combo Filter which combines stainless steel baffle with a unique high tech patented ceramic filter. Provides highest level of grease removal. Meets UL 1046 and NFPA No. 96 requirements.
